memberbeam charges a flat monthly subscription plus a platform fee on payments taken through memberbeam. Contacts are unlimited on every plan.

## Platform fee rules
- Applies to: Membership dues and renewals; Event tickets and registrations; Other online payments (merchandise, fees, invoices)
- Never charged on: Donations; Cash, check and bank transfer payments you record; Refunded payments (the platform fee is returned)
- Capped at $25 per transaction
- Card processing is charged separately by Stripe to the organization's own Stripe account, with no markup
- Price lock: subscription price and platform fee rate do not increase for 36 months from the start of a subscription on the same plan

## Pricing FAQ

### Why do you charge a percentage on payments?
It keeps our plans flat and generous. You never pay more because your member list grew, and small organizations pay very little until money is actually flowing. The percentage drops on every plan, and it never applies to donations or to payments you record yourself.

### Is the platform fee on top of Stripe’s card fees?
Yes. Card processing is charged by Stripe directly to your own Stripe account at their standard rates. We do not mark up processing. You can choose to pass fees on to members at checkout, and many organizations do for event tickets.

### Is there a cap on the platform fee?
Yes. The platform fee is capped at $25 per transaction (or the equivalent in your currency), so large sponsorships and corporate memberships stay affordable.

### What does the 36-month price lock mean?
Your subscription price and platform fee rate will not go up for at least 36 months from the day you subscribe, as long as you stay on the same plan. After that, any change comes with at least 90 days’ notice. It is written into our Terms of Service.

### Do contacts count toward my plan?
No. Prospects, event attendees, donors and lapsed members are all free. Only the Free plan has a member limit, and it counts active members only.

### Do I have to use your payment processor?
You connect your own Stripe account, so you are the merchant and payouts go straight to your bank. Optional GoCardless supports direct debit. There is no surcharge for the processor you choose.

### Can you move us from Wild Apricot or another system?
Yes. Our importer brings over contacts, membership levels, renewal dates, households, invoices and event history. On Growth and Pro, and on annual Community plans, our team does the migration with you at no cost.

### Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Monthly plans can be cancelled at any time and stay active until the end of the billing period. You can export all of your data whenever you like, including for 30 days after cancelling.
